Dr. Usharani Kumar has been a practicing Rheumatologist for 10 years in the Quad Cities area.

She completed her undergraduate work and received her medical degree from the University of Madras in India. She furthered her education by obtaining her PhD in medicine before first practicing in India.

Dr. Kumar then came to the United States where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and then continued with her fellowship in Rheumatology at Northwestern University before starting her practice here in the Quad Cities area.

Dr. Kumar prides herself on providing all types of rheumatological care to patients in the Quad Cities. She stays up-to-date with the latest research by participating in clinical trials for new medications including drugs designed to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia.

Not only does Dr. Kumar work with researchers to help understand new treatments for rheumatological conditions, she also shares that knowledge with the public. Over the years, Dr. Kumar has lectured to area physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists and patients about her field experience, treatments and medication solutions.
