Your can help prevent osteoporosis by eating a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, as well as following a program of weight-bearing exercise. Some people may require a doctor to prescribe medication to help prevent osteoporosis, reverse bone loss, and reduce your risk of fractures and breaks.

What is a iDEXA test?
The iDEXA test is a simple quick and painless way to measure bone mineral density. This test result helps your doctor determine whether you have, or are at risk for developing osteoporosis.

What are the Possible Consequences?

Bone Fractures or Breaks
Bones may fracture or break more easily, especially in the spine, wrist, and hip.

Height Loss
Your pants may seem longer, or your waist may seem thicker.

Curved Back
Multiple fractures may collapse the vertebrae of the spine, causing a "dowager"s hump".

Severe Back Pain
Severe pain may force you to limit some daily or normal activities.
