YOU HAVE THE POWER to Take Control of Psoriatic Arthritis

PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS DIAGNOSIS
Although there is no specific laboratory test to diagnose Psoriatic Arthritis, several test including blood tests and x-rays are often used to help in diagnosis. Psoriatic Arthritis is diagnosed mainly on the finding of both inflammatory joints and skin disease. Characteristic skin and nail changes can be helpful in the diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis.

EARLY TREATMENT
Specific treatment for psoriatic arthritis depends on the type and severity of the disease, which should be measured by regular clinical evaluations. Physical and occupational therapy may be helpful early in the course of the disease.

LOOK AT THE FACTS!

The Relationship Between Skin and Joint Symptoms of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis
The development of skin and joint lesions in psoriatic arthritis involves an underlying inflammatory process. In psoriatic arthritis, plaques are characterized by a rapid growth and turnover of the epidermis.

Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory arthritis that is associated with psoriatic skin lesions. In 70% of psoriatic arthritis cases, joint symptoms develop after the onset of skin symptoms. In 15% of cases, joint and skin symptoms occur simultaneously. In the remaining 15% of cases, psoriatic arthritis symptoms occur before the onset of skin symptoms.
